# Turn what Virent observed into a short list of work.

> How Virent Actions turns visibility, analytics and crawler evidence into prioritized tasks - action types, groups, confidence, and how to start, complete or dismiss them.

Actions reads your Visibility, Analytics and crawler data and suggests specific tasks, each with the evidence behind it and the prompts it should move. You decide what to do.

## Where to find it

Open **Actions** in the sidebar. It is on every plan and open to every role except Billing; viewers can read it but not change it.

| Tab | Contains |
| --- | --- |
| To do | Suggested actions you haven't started |
| In progress | Actions you started |
| History | Done, dismissed and resolved actions. Virent marks an action Resolved when its check no longer finds the problem. |

Each tab is one table, highest impact first, with the action's group, impact, evidence, due date and owner. Filter it by group: **Setup**, **Technical**, **Your pages**, **New content** or **Off-site**.

## Action types

| Group | Examples |
| --- | --- |
| Setup | Connect AI crawler tracking, install the browser SDK, turn on prompt monitoring |
| Technical | Fix error responses on a path, let a crawler reach your pages, get a page crawled again, add structured data |
| Your pages | Make a page worth citing |
| New content | Win a prompt, publish a page for a prompt |
| Off-site | Get listed on a domain that answers already cite |

## Work an action

Open an action to see:

- **What to do**: the task, in concrete steps.
- **Prompts it should move**: the tracked prompts the action is meant to improve.
- **Effect**: what changed after you completed it, measured on those prompts.
- **History**: who started, completed or dismissed it, and when.

Then choose **Start**, **Mark done** or **Dismiss** (with a reason). For content actions, **Start in Content Agent** (or **Update with Content Agent** for an existing page) opens the opportunity in [Content Agent](/docs/content-agent/overview) when it is enabled.

## How actions are chosen

- Actions come from rules over your own data, not from a language model, and don't use AI credits.
- Each action shows the evidence it rests on and a confidence level, for example "Based on 12 answers · low confidence".
- Virent never acts outside your workspace: off-site actions tell you where to get listed; they don't contact anyone.
- An improvement after an action is an association. Answers vary day to day, and other changes happen at the same time.
